Finally I lost my beloved blanket forever. That was very sad. The blanket had been with me for long time. It used to be boss’s old towel, and she gave it to me for my bed’s floor. I used it for all purposes, like slept on it, practice my chewing when I was a puppy, and hid my precious “things” under it. It worked well because the two sisters and Som Tum never know what were under there.
Boss told me she had to throw away because it was too old to keep, and also the level of stink was very high. She said she will replace the new one for me. No! I don’t agree with her, and the new blanket is not my choice neither. I only want my old one back!
My life have been empty since I lost my beloved blanket. Days and nights pass by with the loneliness, and I have nothing to hide my “collection things ” any more. I don’t want anybody see my important “things”, like two pieces of pork bones, one broken piece of coconut shell, one broken plastic toy, and two old hot dogs that I snatched from Som Tum’s bowl during her long nap. From now on I have no secret place to hide my “things” any more. Oh! Poor Joa Ying!
I had been in depression for a while. I wanted to protest boss by eat nothing, but my nose couldn’t resist the smell of biscuit dog bone, and two new hot dogs that boss gave to me for take care my depression. First I turned away from these things, to prove to boss that nothing in this world has more meaning than my old blanket. However, my nose told me if I don’t care hot dogs, and dog bones now, it will be too late. I couldn’t help myself when my heart said “No!”, but my mouth said “Yes!”, and my mouth worked faster than my heart. Therefore, I had to break myself the commitment again.
When those hot dogs disappear inside my mouth, my mood feel much better, my depression soon fade away. That was the magic of two hot dogs. Should I forget about that blanket, and start my new life again?

I think you’ve got to fix that new blanket up with a fresh new bone and other stinky smells!
My kids would agree though, you can’t just replace THE blanket.

Awww, poor Joa Ying, it’s always hard to lose a favorite comfort item. It may take while to get your new one smelling Just Right, but maybe if you roll in it and dig at it a bit it will pick up the yard from your paws and fur as a start. Then you can hide your favorite things and they will start to help. Think of it as a challenge to end up with an even more shredded and stinkier towel than you had before. I know it’s hard to start when your heart isn’t in it, but have courage, the Boss wants you to be happy.
Maybe if you take it outside for a time when the Boss lets you out, you can find a nice earth smell to start building your blanket’s scent.
Cheer up, but not too quickly or you’ll lose out on the sympathy hot dogs!
Good luck with your blanket,
pete
Cute post, really draws me in to read!
Cheers!

She still thinking about her good old days with that beloved blanket, and she can’t forget about it.
Joa Ying will takes a break from her depression only if she sees the fresh hot dogs in her bowl, after that she let herself goes through the bitterness world of losing over and over again.
